Polyvisc (HPMC)

HPMC (hydroxypropylmethylcellulose) is a sterile, isotonic solution with viscoelastic properties and thus belongs to the field of viscoelastics. Due to its good gliding properties, methylcellulose is used in intraocular procedures in the anterior segment of the eye during cataract surgery and phacoemulsification to position the anterior chamber and protect the corneal endothelium. The viscoelastic abilities and good wetting properties allow easier insertion of the intraocular lenses.

  • Transparent solution

  • Pyrogen-free
  • Storage at room temperature
  • Physiological pH range
  • Inhibits oxidative processes (radical scavenger)
  • Easy to rinse and vacuum
